Focusing - individual sessions

Would you like to start experiencing the benefits of Focusing immediately?

A one-to-one guided session is the best way to experience the Focusing process for yourself and begin to receive its benefits.

Some of the benefits to you:

  • a sense of relief and clarity about your life and your forward steps

  • a body sense of peace

  • a greater ability to be compassionate to yourself

  • a shift in perspective about what’s bothering you

  • new possibilities, new options, and fresh energy to move forward.

You can expect:

  • to receive respectful, confident, unobtrusive guiding through the process

  • to feel deeply understood and to understand yourself more deeply

  • to experience some movement or fresh perspective on your issue or problem, even in one session

  • to get some ideas for how to continue the process on your own and/or in further sessions

What happens after the session

There is a high likelihood that you will feel some kind of difference in the issue you worked on, after just one session, and many people experience a significant shift.

Some people find they feel better without knowing why – at least at first. “I don’t know why I feel so light and relaxed, the problem is the same”. Wait a few hours... let the process unfold... and then check again if the problem or issue feels different. It usually does!

Sometimes people want more sessions, others may want to practice further on their own, others may want to move into a Foundation One Course at this point. There will be time at the end of your session to discuss your next steps if you like, or we would be happy to discuss this with you at another time.

Although many people want only one or two sessions, there is also a possibility of working with someone over a number of sessions. This is completely your choice, depending on your inner sense of finding the work helpful.

After a session is booked, we ask for a 24-hour notice for changing or canceling the appointment or we will need to charge for the time as if the session were held. To read more about our policies you can visit our policies and frequently asked questions page.

 
 

 
 

Would you like to receive a free Focusing session? 

There are 3 possible avenues

1. You can have from 1-3 private sessions on the phone with an advanced student in training. After each session, you’ll fill out a feedback form in detail, which is your payment for the session. You also agree for the student to discuss your process with his or her teacher.

2.  You can have your first Focusing session with Jo Kennedy on the phone if you are willing for a small group of advanced students to listen in during the session. There are limited time and date opportunities for this; it is part of our training  course.

3.  We also need volunteers to have a first Focusing session in person with an advanced student. The location is in Melbourne Australia 1 weekend per year.

We  look for people having their first Focusing session. If you’ve already had one, you may not qualify for this opportunity. But you can always recommend a friend!
